newbie to the forum needs some help

Hi

My ranger has never gave me any problems till now. (right after I joined this forum... go figure lol)

Here is all the info I can give about my problem.

I have a 2001 Ranger XL 2.5 4cyl. bone stock.

I drove it home last night everything was fine. This morning I tried to start it and NOTHING.

no door chime.
no clicking.
my 12v/cig light thing is getting nothing.

the ONLY thing is my lights will turn on. Tried the caution flashers and I get nothing from them.

Ok so here is what I have tried.

jumping the batt---> didnt work
checked fuses----> all appeared good.

I would not consider myself a mechanic so... go easy on the terms..

try to clean the battery terminals... they may be coroded

they are actually new.....

changed em about a month back

Did you check the main fuses under the hood? Are the new terminals the cheesy, bolt on ones? Did you grease or seal the terminals after replacement?

The fuses under the hood are bigger and look like blocks?

How can you tell if they are blown. Unlike a reg fuse where you can easily see its blown.

ok I appreciate everyones help but my truck had a change of heart today.

I go out to check the fuses under the hood. I decided first just to put the key in JUST to see if I got lucky.

varooom....

it started...

I just dont understand it.... just happy it works
