what do you think...bumpstops.... must have or ...not?

Unless you want to destroy your shocks and rip everything out from underneath your truck I would say... YEAH, they are important :D

how do u determine how big to have em.......just before the shock bottoms out..?

and why would it let stuff rip outta the truck..?

Look at your tires, and look at is what above them, imagine, now, if the tire was allowed to go into that... The biggest problem though would be bottoming out your shocks... Before the shock bottoms out is a good idea for length...

I just discovered that my rear bumpstops are gone.

No "witness marks" that anything has touched in the back,
but then again with the springs and shocks I'm running...

While it is not a matter of life-and-death, bump stops provide a fail-safe against springs failing or popping out (the latter of which is quite common without some type of additional capturing method for the coil springs).

That being said, I haven't yet fabricated a set of bump stops for my truck since completing the axle swap. It is the next item on the list though.

My rear ones rotted off about 5 years ago, only time i ever had a problem was wiht a load of a stone in the bed, the tires rubbed the fenders a few times over bumps but no damage. WIth stock tires i doubt i would have hit at all.
