Newbie Here Needs Advice

Hey guys, I know Im the new guy here, Had about every vehicle known to man and am looking at trading my Jeep for a Ranger now, Its a 93 2.3 5 speed. It has new clutch, maf, tune up etc. Its currently at 139k. My question is what kinda maintnence intervals are in the near future. Timing belt? Anything else to look out for. I didnt do my research on my Yota and a few months later the timing chain guides went (All fixed now) Just trying to figure what I need to look for at this mileage. I know my bros 89 had clutch slave go and then burnt a valve around 120k, Which surprised me cause I know these 2.3s are bulletproof. Thanks

Timing belts are supposed to be done every 100k. They're non-interference engines though, so if it does break, it won't bend any valves. The 2.3 and 5 speed is a pretty bulletproof combination. Do a search on shift rail plugs. They tend to leak and can toast the trans if you lose too much fluid. Other than that, no worries.

As for upcoming maintenance, I would just do all the normal stuff that hasn't been done already. Spark plugs, filters, all fluids including transmission and differential (5 speeds use Mercon ATF). That's about all I can think of.

Plugs and wires are all brand new as well. Only thing that bothers me is he said it needs a crank sensor, he said it was giving him problems, he said he cleaned it up and went back to working now its acting up again, Where are the crank sensors on these? I know its $116 for a new one
