New wheels and tires on the ranger?

xtreme, really? trying to compare a fullsized deisel anything to a ranger
honestly i think someone has a bad case of small mans syndrome, so please, go back to your obdviously boreing life with the exeption of your truck that has however many horse power, honestly none of us care what your DODGE can do being FORD enthisiasts

so please for everyone involved, please leave us alone
and did i mention that a ranger could rape your truck when it comes to a tight trail

all that thing is really good for is sucking up moneyand gas, and mentally making your penis bigger than 4 inches

First thing's first before we get started.. Anyone who brings up the small penis argument has a little guy indeed:haha:.... I will give you at least 10 girls numbers who can tell you otherwise about that.. AAAANNNNNDDDDD......... You must be really intelligent to figure out a compact truck is better in compact trails than a full size 3/4 ton pickup........

Secondly, The only things anti-ford that jumped off my fingertips onto the keyboard, are my sig. and the fact I think they are unconsistently manufactured.. I do some part time auto part work, and I just looked up a '91 f-150 brake line with more options/ variables that I could have ever even fathomed.... If you are all such huge ford repair enthusiasts, then you've all done brake line work like I have... Adapters much?....

Third OF ALL!!!........ MY TRUCK CERTAINLY DOES NOT I REPEAT DOES NOT SUCK GAS!!!!!!!!..... NOT ONLY DOES IT GET 22MPG ON THE HIGHWAY AND 16MPG AROUND TOWN IMAGINE THIS.........it burns diesel fuel....:dunno:

I really had no intentions to cause trouble.. I used to have a ranger... I worked on my Ranger........ I liked it......... It burned.... I continue work on fords occasionally, but mainly 1989-2008 Diesel Dodge rams and 2001-2008 Diesel GM ....... I dislike working on fords..... I didn't say any information out of the blue, it was all brought up by someone else..... People love to start internet arguments....

How and why did that simple question turn into this big thing? :icon_confused:

and if you think Fords are such a terrible vehicle then why join a Ford Ranger forum? Go look for a Dodge forum if these are so bad...

I've done brake lines on all kinds of fords and all kinds of dodge's pretty much the same if you ask me.

Goes like this:

Driving along in a (insert any rusty old ford, dodge, gm, etc) and hit the brakes. Pedal goes to floor. "Aw Crap!" (now swerving to avoid other cars). Limp vehicle 100 miles home using the transmission to stop with.

Go to autoparts store get 5 different length brake lines (much simpler than the made-to-fit parts) and at least 2 of every adapter they have.

Spend 2 hours bending lines and screwing together adapters until it fits. Bleed. Brakes work like new.

Maybe it's just me, but every dodge or gm or toyota or honda or whatever has needed just as many adapters as the fords....

I don't really understand your point about inconsistant parts. I've worked on a lot of fords and never had a problem with finding the right part.

Thats probably because all the Fords you worked on were not manufactured on a Wednesday....:icon_rofl:...(no offense)..... Everyone knows Ford is terrible to find parts for... The only adapter you should need is to go to the Master Cylinder.. Where as, Ford deems it necessary to put 3/8-24 thread with a 3/16 line on the drivers of the division block on the rear axle and 1/2-20 with a 3/16 line threads on the passenger side? WTF?! It would be perfectly fine if they did this all the time, but it wasn't...

Well both of mine just had the threads that come standard on a 3/16" line on both sides of the rear axle tee. The line going into the rear axle tee has the same threads as well. Coming out of the RABS module though was the size that comes on a 1/4" brake line. So I just cut the new line, put the old fitting on, and re-flared it.

I know what you mean though. I just replaced the passenger side parking brake cable on my ranger and when I ordered the part they asked me if it was built before 2/90 or after. Mine was built in 89 so I ordered the part for the pre-2/1990 (which was somehow $16 compared to $35 for the post-2/1990 part). Only thing I forgot is that I have an axle from a 93 explorer in there. So I get the brake cable and sure enough, the spring on the end that goes inside the drum is 1.5" too long. I ended up shortening it, which took me an extra half hour. It was definately worth saving 20 bucks on the part though.

You want to talk about hard to find parts go to the auto parts store and ask for brake pads for a 93 civic :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: It took me three tries to get the right set, and there was still about 9 left that I hadn't tried. That was my first and last time working on a civic.

You worked on a Honda!?!?!?!?:shok: PLEASE tell me it was a favor out of the charity of your heart.

Yeah, it was for a friend of the family who was going through a rough time. She had gotten the car for free but the brakes were shot so I fixed them for her.

I had to comprimise every moral I've ever had to touch that thing with a wrench.

Well in my honest opinion I don't think it'd be a good idea to put 35's on your 2wd.

Just my 2 cents.

Well............to sum this all up.....

.......all in all, it would be a terrible thing to put 35's on a 2wd ranger with low gear ratio and a 3.0.....:icon_cheers:

Well.. I don't find the need to bash rangers, I just hate fords in general. They are the most inconsistently manufactured Make of vehicle in the U.S...

I HATE F'ing Fords too!!! That's why I drive them! Then I can get on TRS and have a Piss and Moan contest with the group!

and what is the BULL SHIT about having power in a off road truck? I smell B.S.! You don't need power, you need torque! A small "torquey" Ranger fits the bill anyday for mudding, rock crawling and those gay ass retarded pre-runners!:icon_rofl:

:clapping: Yes, yes, that's why mud bog trucks have anywhere between 300-1500 horsepower............. stop starting arguments....... :iamwithstupid:

p.s..... I hardly take my truck off of idle in the woods...........:nono:

p.s.s..... I think you're somewhat late in this thread, we wern't even arguing about who has more power in an off-road scenario..... :word:

Hey Dodge boy!

I think you have some good points but I think you should take them to a dodge forum. This is BS and I think you should get the F**k out of here!
