Hi all, I'm James from Vancouver. I have always loved the B2, I'm on my 3rd one. I just love the look of them. I even went to an Escape for a few years because it was the closest new car to the B2 but it wasn't the same so i decided to buy myself a decent looking B2 and restore it over time.
I'm currently in a 1986 Eddie Bauer Edition and I love it. The body and paint are like new with the exception of 1 minor rust spot in the wheel well. When I have more time I'll post some pix but for now I have a problem. My truck has power doors and windows. They worked fine when I bought it about 3 months ago. I had an after market alarm with keyless entry installed about 2 months ago, i mostly wanted the keyless fob. Everything was working just fine then with no warning the locks stopped unlocking with the FOB and with the button in the car. I know that the Fob works because when i press the open button the alarm deactivates and the lock makes a clicking sound but then nothing. Its supposed to simultaneously open the passenger and the hatch instead i have to dearm the alarm and use the key to open the door, very lame. Every so often when i press the open button on the FOB the locks will open but then back to nothing. One time they started working like normal for about two days but then back to this. Its weird because the locking part of the FOB and Alarm work. Please help, all info is much appreciated.:icon_cheers:

If I had to guess, the unlock relay or the wiring to it have gone bad.

W `elcome fellow Canadian...

Can't say that I'm familiar with the alarm setup but maybe pull your batteries and dry them off...happens all the time with my hearing aides and my gf's dildo...they get moist and don't work too well...except my gf...when she gets moist...oh, wait...this isn't the tailgate...
