New used fm145 throws shifter out of first

working as a subcontractor for garage door company trans blew now the new one I got throws the shifter out of first with a grinding sound couldn't hold it there if I tried any ideas

oh and gear oil might be a little low I squeezed as much out of three quart bottles in there as I could would that have anything to do with it

just put it in and it won't shift into first gear grinds and throws it out couldn't hold it there if you tried all other gears work good long time follower new member gear oil may be a little low would that have anything to do with it

Do you know what condition the Shift Lever seat is in? A rebuild kit for the transmission does not come with a new Shift Lever seat and this will cause your shifter to pop out of gear. If you dont know where its at, its on the bottom of your shifter, its a Big O ring, cant miss it.

the shift seat looked good when I put it in I'm going to try taking it out and jamming the linkage but someone told me it is the throw out bearing the new one piece will probably fix it any word?

Be careful with jamming. There's pins near that boot that could possibly break and then you have to buy new hardware
