new truck ???????????

Hello.

I just purchased a Red 1996 Ford Ranger Splash 4x4 4.0L, 180,000miles, stepside with a matching Leer Cap. I am pretty excited about it.

In any event I do have a few questions. I think I have done a pretty good job researching the site to avoid repetition and hope you will allow me to ask my questions here. The OD, 4x4,and 4x4low lights appear after start and when engaged as long as the parking lights and headlights are off, but as soon as the parking lights or headlights are turned on they disappear. Is this normal?

It appears to have the stock premium radio cassette with the remote CD changer. The radio clock and tuner work but none of the buttons are backlit and adjusting the dimmer control does not seem to matter. Is this normal?

Well I can say that neither of those issues are normal, unfortunately I don't know how to fix them.

It's a third car so my plans are to have it: Take up space in the driveway (annoy my wife), go to the range with my son, place to put my NRA stickers, teach my daughter how to drive, haul the boats, drive to work on snow days, drive around town on weekends. Priceless.
