hey yall just got a 99 B3000 2 wheel dig on turkey day and got some questions if you will be kind and answer them for me so i dont have to keep searching. One is this truck has a 3 inch body and riding on 33s with the stock 3.30 gears. what is the gear ratio i need to put back toward factory so i can drive over 65mph and not suck down the gas so bad. Two is does a Ford 9 inch fit under this truck ot should i just buy new gears for it? Thank you so much for any help yall

You can make anything fit with a little modding. But I would just regear. And for the 3.0 I would say get 4.56s

ok thank you factory was 3.30 tires were 245/75/16 and will just a 3 inch body allow me that tire size looks like i could get 35s under it no problem

With the 3.0L I'd suggest 4.88 gears. The 3.0L makes it's best power with a little more RPM. MPG is likely to be somewhere around 22-23 if you have a stickshift, though your driving habits will affect it much more than gears or anything else will.

As for the axle, find an 8.8 inch from a Ranger or Explorer.
The Ranger axle gives you the option of simply bolting it in, the Explorer axle has stronger shafts (might be worthwhile if you plan to use it hard offroad), but will require welding some mounting hardware onto it.
