Heres my 1st Ranger that I just picked up for 1200 bucks. Its an 87 4x4 automatic. So far so good, everything works and it looks pretty good. We'll see how well the previous owners did in the prep work when it was painted though...you know??

It needs a little work, like for instance, the bed is still primer so I'll be redoing that and probably Rhino Lining it. Should look good....The work isnt anything too important.

...anyway....pics!

You cant see it in this pic but those back lights have a good amount of grey primer overspray on them...Thanks for that previous owner. I'll be getting that off of there soon...

I really dont know what to make of this...I think someone had cut out that part of the carpet and the foam underneath. Maybe it got nasty or the window was down...Who knows...Both sides have this. The carpet will be changed soon anyhow.

But underneath looks good! So....:dunno:

Heres the good ol 2.9 w/ 136k on it. Its pretty origional under the hood. The valve covers have old ford rubber OEM stickers on them...pretty cool

Not to bad....I think its gonna be a great DD and Project!

looks good for a gen 1...whats your plans for it?

Thanks!

Right now just little things. Like I said, I want to finish up the bed....definitely put aftermarket gauges in. The Ford dummy gauges are not my favorite.

I plan to do most of my work on the interior. It may not look to bad in the pics but the dash pad looks like crap because someone tried to paint it. Also the carpet of course...

Mainly just little things here and there.... toolbox, better wheels and tires. No lift, just the biggest tires that will fit (anyone know or have pics?)
and maintenance like a tuneup and change ALL fluids...both axles and all.

It runs awesome....No problems at highway speeds either. Just that the temp guage actually goes to A in normal....I need an aftermarket guage so I know theres nothing to worry about!

Nice Gen one! My favorite Body style! :icon_thumby:

Dummy Gauges? They didn't start putting those in till like 93 all your 87 guages should be reflecting the actual readings.

Sounds like you got this thing under control, I would put the rubberized floor in place of the carpet its really nice not to have to worry about dirtying it up.

As for the tires, I could get 235's under my truck with no issues, some say they got 31's with no issues i don't buy it even with a 3" body lift my 31's still rub slightly on bumps.

Heres mine with 235's

I personally like 31's though...
they make em look so much more BA. a 2" body lift and 31's would look good on that truck! :icon_thumby: ...not that it not already looking great!

Cool, Thanks. I'll have to look into those sizes. I'm surprised that 31's would fit! Good to know...

And yeah, by dummy gauge I mean because all they say is normal. Just very generic. I'd rather have something that tells me exactly whats going on with actual numbers. Thats why I want the aftermarket gauges.
