Years ago I bought a new in box Harbor Freight 6" belt/ 9" disc sander for cheap at an auction, it sat for a few years until I got to it but annoyingly the drive drum was two pieces and had a corrosive red loctite holding the two pieces together... at one point I found a Grizzly drive drum that was like $35 but now it's up to $60 plus shipping... Friday I found a Delta version of the sander for $50 on facebook marketplace, it was in Portland so sent a message Friday but he didn't respond but did today so I picked it up on my way home...
He said it worked which it does but it has never been connected to a vacuum and has very fine grit paper on it so there is sawdust EVERYWHERE AND IN EVERYTHING, or was, I made a mess with the air compressor... I do need to take it apart as there's some rubbing at motor speed.
It should be pretty nice, obviously a woodworking version being Delta but it's 1hp, has a graphite coated bed for the belt and seems to track fine. Now I need to get some new discs and belts to do general purpose work as the 120 grit or whatever won't cut it, it has some guts though as I couldn't stall it with the gum cleaning stick thing...
Will be nice going from the 4" belt/6" disc sander I've had for years, that thing is better than nothing but way too easy to stall...
