New tools you've bought recently?

The Hercules brand is HF's "top of the line" and are as good as, if not better than some of the "big names"

I'm slowly converting my cordless stuff to the HF "Bauer" 20-volt family and have been very happy with them.

I've been happy with Bauer so far. The collection is small as of yet. I bought a 1/2" impact for the on the trail tool bag, one of their fans, and a 10" chain saw to clear any fallen trees on the trail, all using the same battery. I figure, if a tree is bigger than 20", we'll be turning around any how. That is a lot of wood to move.

CAPRI Stubby metric ⅜" drive impact set; for those 3.7 times in life when the tool is too long to get the job done.

The packaging doesn't offer much to write home about but I've experienced great production from the universal black and red plastic rails from The Walmart; I suppose if kept in a tray or drawer the furnished styrofoam cutouts would be a bonus.

I've never been told my tool is too long.

But it obviously got the job done since I have three teenagers...

a tripod is a tool.. right? Ordered one this morning for YouTube things. It's from the land of lo-mein of course but.. really couldn't justify spending more money than what I did so 🤷🏻‍♀️ (50$)

The reviews were quite positive on the thing so.. high hopes! Should be here tomorrow.

I recently dug out a tripod and monopod for my camera. Had to buy a quick connect fitting for $30 but they both work now. Both the camera and tripods were inherited. The camera is from the 2000's. Have to figure out the menu now...lol.

The newest tool I bought recently.

I didn't actually buy a tool.
I bought supplies to make into a tool.

I needed to pull a half-shaft out of a Buick century's transmission.

So I bought a 3-ft threaded rod and some washers and some nuts.

When I went to Home Depot to get the thread rod I took a pair of Vice-Grips in with me.

I took the adjustment screw out of the Vice-Grips and bought a threaded rod that would fit in the threads of the hole in the Vice-Grips.

And then of course washers and nuts that would fit the threaded rod.

And then went home and took the tongue out of my brother's tow hitch.

When I got done assembling everything I clamped the Vice-Grips to the cup of the half shaft that goes inside the transmission.
I had the rod screwed into the Vice-Grips and I had the tow hitch tongue on the rod with the washers and nuts at the other end of the rod.
I used the tow Hitch tongue as my slide Hammer weight.

It worked pretty good.
However next time I'll find something other than the tow hitch tongue to use as my weight.
Because the tongue weight is off balance.
And the pin hole is a little bit bigger than the threaded rod so it was sliding good but not great.
