80 gal ingersoll-rand 2 stage air compressor. got tired of waiting the compressor to catch up

Jealous... one of these days I'll get myself a 60-80 gallon unit, my current 30 gallon in the shop isn't bad though, if I was painting it wouldn't be enough but it's a reasonable compromise especially for what I have in it...

Consumables;
Welding rods and wire, $25 for the lot.
Rods; Five - 6011, one - 6013, one 7018, all 4.4lbs.
Mig wire 10 lbs solid core.
I vacuum packed the rods.
Assorted fender washers. $5 for the lot. Boxes were busted and I had to sort them. Finally made use of saved pill bottles...lol

Really handy tool- I use it most for outdoor power equipment. Jump starts, airing up tires, Ranger tire pressure adjustments. No cords or hassles, especially away from a 120v power source.

I bought a steady rest for my lathe, should be delivered today:

Also won a couple of reloading lots at a local estate auction. There is a Lee Classic Turret press, a MEC 9000G 12ga press, two Lee Load All's in 12ga & 20ga, a bunch of dies, and some other misc. stuff. I have about $230 into everything and I think I can just about break even selling off what I don't want. The MEC press is what I was really after, those things are like $700. I already have three other 12ga presses but none of them are as nice as this one!

I used to use pill bottles for electrical terminals but now all of that has moved to a Milwaukee Packout organizer set. Bolts used to be in spreadable butter tubs but most of those have moved to organizer cases too. I’ve been using the butter tubs for bolt organizers when I tear something apart. I still use nut containers for nails and screws for construction though

Well my steady rest isn't quite right. It fits the bed of the lathe just fine but the center line of the chuck and tailstock is about 1/2" higher than the center of the rest. Kind of weird. It was advertised as being for a South Bend 9c... I have a 9a... supposedly the only difference is that mine has a quick change gear box and the 9c does not.

Think I'll have to make a spacer to go under it. That should have me fixed up. I can use it as-is, it just limits the side of material that will fit through the rest somewhat since the bottom two fingers need to be set really high.

some brass/bronze buttons on the ends of the fingers would be nice.
with the design of those fingers getting some thick enough to add small bearings is doable.
since it's short, can you mount it as a following rest?

I think I'd have the same problem... it would need to be mounted higher. Would be cool if I could mount it to the saddle but that would be tough since it's intended to sit on the bed. Might just have to buy (or maybe build) a follow rest.

Pretty sure I can buy a set of fingers with bearings on them. I might go that route if I end up using it a lot.

I bought a Makita MAC700 air compressor to replace my old Rigid wheelbarrow style one that crapped out. I bought the old one used pretty cheap over a dozen years ago. It doesn't owe me anything.

My needs are simple and this new one is more than sufficient.

Bought some swivel sockets. Cheapo's from Amazon. CAD designed an organizer for them.
