New tools you've bought recently?

I usually stripped wire with my Klein wire crimpers. Give it a couple gentle squeezes with the cutters... then apply a little pressure and pop the insulation off. I'm getting older and my right hand just don't work like it use too. So I sprung for a new pair of Klein strippers. I already like the adjustable stop... and they work pretty damn good.

I have a clone of those I've used for decades. They work.

I’ve never liked them for wires worth more flexible insulation. They just stretch it. Works better for the thhn type stuff that is fairly hard.

That looks way easier then the ball joint press. I've considered buying one before... appears the price has went down since I last looked.

10.5 is the hole for a 12 x 1.5 thread.

modifying a tire changer, can't get the drill close enough to the center post for a straight hole.
could have swore I attached a picture, it didn't appear for me????

had to add the pic again, must have snafu'ed it first time.

I’ve used that same style quite a few times on the side of the road. Some of the big trucks, it’s the only way to pull the driveshaft. The nice thing about that is the way it pushes only 1 cap out, it doesn’t push the opposite cap in. Pushing on the other cap on a really seized joint can bend the ears of the yoke. This won’t bend them in, only out. It’s the best tool for us rust belters.

Been eyeing the LANG brake caliper compressor, $90, didn’t quite know if it was worth it. Saw one at the Napa yesterday while buying brake pads for the F250, little bit cheaper and still made in USA.


No regrets. hate brakes less now.
