I have a wrecked 98 f350 4x4 single rear wheel gas burner. Looking at 90 2wd reg cab for 375$ or a 99 4x4 super cab for 700$. Which will be the easiest 1 ton v8 swap? Going to be more off road than on.

Welcome to TRS

The 1999 would be 3rd Generation so slightly larger than the 1st Gen 1990 Ranger, so a better swap match, its only a few inches but still a few inches, lol

Yeah at my age I need more room than I used to. I have a rebuilt 5.0 I'm going to use and a c6 and 205
