I'm new to both this site and to owning a vehicle. A buddy of mine's got an '86 Ranger 2.9L 4x4 that I'm interested in, and I might be getting it relatively soon, if all goes well when I personally lay eyes upon it for the first time. I'm going to see the truck sometime in the middle of this coming week.
Signed up to learn what I can about Gen1s like the one I may very well be getting. Another friend of mine linked me to a very informative article here on TRS about the history of the 2.9L and its track record, but the engine's only one part of a vehicle. Is there anything else I really need to know when looking at this truck as my first set of wheels?
