yeah i think as soon as i sell my other truck i might go look at it if he still has it. a bit of a hike to just go look at it but hey, i'd rather look at it and realize i don't want it or it's just too much work then come back with a pile.

I also wouldn't ask if he'd take a low-ball offer through an email. I ignore people who ask " Hey would you take $XX?" or "What's the lowest you'll go?"

Go look at it if you're serious, then offer. As others have said, he's more likely to accept if he sees the cash in your hand.
