Ford F350 Superduty 7.3 diesel 4x4
Coming from a 7.3 Superduty diesel 4x4 but want to downsize. Looking at new to almost new Ranger crew cab 4x4s with the 2.7. I heard this is the most active Ranger forum so I joined, I'm in Arizona

PS I used to restore the old 2 door Rangers and resell them but I never kept one for myself

Cheers, Big B

Welcome!

Rangers came with a 2.8, 2.9, 3.0, and two flavors of 4.0 liter engines in the V-6 configuration. As far as the year break downs and other details, the tech article section will probably most helpful, unless you want to wait for one of the walking encyclopedias to login and and chime in.

He's talking new trucks... 2024 or 2025 MY.

If im not mistaken it's the same 2.7 that is in the F150 and Broncos. So the platform has been around a few years. I heard the first couple years in the Bronco they has an oiling problem with the turbos. Think it was resolved shortly after and haven't heard of any of those issues on the new Rangers. I also think they put the 10r60 that's in the Broncos and Mustangs instead of the 10r80 that's in the 19 to 23s. My wife has a Bronco and I really like the 10r60s shifting better than my 10r80. That could have to do with weight and all to. Either way I dont think you would be making a bad decision. The new front grill has grown on me the more I see them. Welcome to TRS.
