Hello every1, my wife has a 1997 ranger 4x4. She got a small car and gave me her truck, I'm not a fan of 4x4s so I wanted to remove the entire 4x4 system and lower the truck.. is it possible to remove the diff.without causing damage I hear two diffrent things
1,its possible to do without any problems
2,its a structual piece and needs to stay...

Why? If you hate 4x4s just keep the case in 2HI. You could still lower it.

jus pull out the ttb and drive line and replace it with some 2wd djm "dream beams" and flip the shackels in the rear and BAM its a lowered 2wd ranger.

now you can rep me cause im AWSOME :D

and no it wont hurt the truck if its a 4x4 and you put in some 2wd beams

Don't know anybody that has done this before. 97 is a great year for a 4x4. A lot of people would like to have it. I would just sell it and get something else to slam if that is what you really want to, Bro.

Just sell it and get u a 2wd. rangers sell fast, atleast they do around here and u can probably get more for it then what u will by a 2wd for. so u would have extra for goodies for Ur new truck.
