new to prerunners! 98 mazda b4000


When is the last time you rotated your tires? From the looks of it I would say never... Even it the camber is correct your tires are gonna wear on the inward side so you wanna rotate them to even it out (I do it every time I change the oil, its already on jack stands so might as well).

A lot of people go with a set of F31 Deaver leaf springs and flip the shackle/cut a hole in the bed for more travel. Along with a pair of Bilstien 5100 shocks and the rear should ride great! Remember stiffer springs handle better than soft but ride "different". Good shocks and springs will feel good on road and handle great off road.
 
You do realize Total Chaos only makes toyota kits right? I doubt you have one on there
 
Looks like a tube upper and lower kit. Probably a kit from ebay that goes under the name "Total Chaos" from China. Stuff like that scares me, heaven forbid that kit be travelling down the road next to me when those welds give loose.

Yeah, that is a pair of sun glasses, helmet and a news paper (or maybe some cardboard if he is lucky)...

bilstiens are a joke haha their more for show. get either fox or king (i perfer fox) for performance.

and i doubt thats a china kit, looks too nice. its prolly custom. post more pics of it!!!
 
@Cody Ray for the tire rotation question, i just bought this truck last week so i couldnt tell you for sure but you are right i[ def need to get them rotated for sure.

ok i see a couple things i would change, personally i dont like the balljoint uppers, but they will work if you wanna keep them and keep it simple. and i would get a fabtech 3 inch lift spindle, it looks like you have the stock spindles in there haha, and you would get better clearance with a lift spindle.

and can you get a picture of the top of the frame rail, like an above picture of the suspension, cause i cant tell if you have the 2.0 upgrade on there or not, but i doubt it cause thats just a cheap shock in there. its a lot better start on the suspension than what i had to work with on my truck haha

Edit: nevermind you dont needa get a pic of the top of the frame rail, i saw that you have a stock shock in the stock location... this is what the 2.0 upgrade looks like:

as you can see the fox resi shock now goes thru the frame rail and has a custom shock hoop holding it in. if you wanna know anything about the setup in the picture jus ask me cause its my truck.

awesome, that looks legit. ok so a couple questions. looking at mine its got a round receiver for the top of the shock, did you just cut that out of the way and im guessing you fabed that custom shock hoop?

i saw the spindles on your build thread so i can def see why you like yours more. I feel like my whole upper conrol arm looks sketch compared to yours.

and thanks for the help bro i really appreciate, im takin notes. i feel like im in a class right now lol

i actually took my truck into a fab shop to do the upgrade cause of lack of tools, but i was there whole process. and yea you jus cut that "round recievier" thingy off and build up either some tube or plate (like mine) shock hoops. like i said fabtech lift spindles are the way to go cause their beefier and i think you will like the look of the truck better anyways. and the control arms arnt too bad on your truck but it wouldnt hurt to go for some monoball uppers like what i have, but the only problem is the usually cost between $500-$1,000 depending on the fab shop and if you get discounts and such (i got mine for $500 with a ton of discounts from a fab shop in san diego.

i think your setup with lift spindles, the 2.0 upgrade and maybe new upper arms your setup should pull between 12 and 14 inches of travel. oh and i also recommend getting limit straps too.

and no problem man, i like sharing what knowledge i have with other people.

and i live in sacramento. not to many pre runners up here so my truck turns some heads lol. people look confused

i dont see the spindles but my question was about the control arms. would those fit with my lower control arms because my lower seem like they are wider. maybe those wouldnt reach?

that would be me...and florida is full of mud holes. im building the truck because i love the look and it preforms great trail riding too

well thats the right kit, it jus looks like its a stock photo but if you scroll down you will see it shows a picture of the lift spindles.
but i would never spend more than 450 bux on spindles... i got mine for $250 off of race dezert. lemmie look online, i might be able to find some
