Hey all, my first truck, 05 ranger 4x4, saved up and bought it myself, 18 years old. Stoked to find this wicked site, and hoping to find all kinds of info. The tech library is insane, but within this I have found a slight glitch in where two articles are contradictory. One saying that cranking the tortion bars on a newer 98+? ranger will provide lift but will be in dire need of an alignment, where as else where it says that no alignment is needed for the model...? Any idea's? Thanks and have a happy new year.

Welcome to the site and congrats on getting the truck, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. Regardless of what it says in the tech library, any time you change the ride height of a vehicle it's a good idea to check the alignment. Now get out there and take some pictures, everybody likes pictures.

Welcome to the site! +1 on at tleast having the alignment checked after adjustment of the ride height. Tires are still expensive! Also differences of opinion are rampant on the forums! Just my $ .02 worth. Amen to the everyone likes pictures! Just not all of us are smart enough to follow the directions to include them with our ideas:icon_idea:
Also don't try to include too many vehicles in your avitar part like I did?

welcome C_Root, by cranking the torsion bars you are forcing the control arms down so depending on how far you go, what you will end up with are tires that will lean outward slightly at the top, which will cause the outside edge of the tires to wear faster.

Alright, thanks for input, heres a few pics of the truck just before I bought it off the lot. 59,000 kms, one owner, never smoked.
