Hi all. Bought a beater 2007 2.3l 2-door, mostly for chores around the neighborhood.

  • Not my first Ranger - I had a beautiful 2006 in the same configuration that I rolled on black ice about 12 years ago
  • Not my first wrenching - I have been working on motorcycles, ATVs and doing some car stuff for years
  • But my old Ranger was in mint condition when I bought it, so I didn't need to work on it. It was super clean and ran great.

I'll need some help with this 07 truck though!

Hello! 👋 Not much you can't do with a legit set of wrenches. This is one of the easiest vehicles I've ever worked on. I've also got a 2.3L standard cab 2WD. Mine's an '08. My wife calls it Truck Norris, Ford Ranger.

I've actually been pleasantly surprised with how workable everything is. Having said that, part of the reason I can access stuff is because the PO had it apart before and that made it easier. They'd installed some janky MP3 stereo and I junked that, put in a combo cassette/CD unit from a 90s truck which installed in about 30 seconds. No more waiting for Bluetooth connections and data coverage!

I have a flashing TPMS light that I'd like to turn off and the airbag light is on, not blinking (looks like it might be related to the passenger airbag system switch). I'll find the appropriate forums and start digging for info there.
