Ok I'm tired of not having L/S in my other truck, it just sucks major ballz.

I asked if I could just use the L/S diff from my old truck or the new diff I got for it but apparently (like dummies) ford put the speed sensor in the rear...

My question is... Since I cannot swap the entire carrier and ring and all of the old ones, Can I just use the L/S carrier and swap the rings (as I am assuming the ring has the marks)? Or is the carrier itself the thing that has the markings?

This is on my 99 ranger. I have a 7.5" rear open with the speed sensor, and the carrier has a 4.10 ring with Limited slip. Is there a problem just swapping rings?

the ring gear has the tone ring on it for the abs.

It's not attatched to the ring gear.

It's bolted on in addition to the ring gear.

I don't see why you couldn't swap the L/S carrier for the open one and vise versa.

BTW ABS is over rated. Mine hasn't worked since I built the truck. I just pulled the ABS light out of the dash.

Sweet so theres nothing special and different bout the carriers then? I can swap over the Tone Ring and Ring gear?

my ABS works... i think i have abs? Only comes on every once in awhile though.
