Got some camping to do soon...figured this would be perfect! Just so you know, its over 5 feet tall, and is just over 7 feet long....LOADS of room, and with a air mattress inside its wonderful. Takes 5 minutes to set up as well. Cost...115$

I set it up in the parking stall so that I could spray the seams.

That is a sweet setup my friend!
Truck is looking good to!

Haha just like mine! I should post some pics of mine too...with mine theres like...2 poles of a certain length, 2 poles of a similar length...then like one longer pole. I didn't realize this and it took me forever to get the right poles in the right places haha. Is yours that same way?

Where did you get it and what brand and model is it??
Thnx Ben

Kinda look like mine lol.

I like it, had mine for two season but takes me more then 5 min to set up by myself.

yep same one :D 5 minutes was with another person there. Its quite spacious. Do you have a mattress? I havent got one yet...

cabellas also has them and the air mattress that fits in the bed around the fenders.

Cool looking. I want one!

if this truck is a rock'n, don't come a knock'n........thats the first thing that came to mind. Which is usually the case....

That is awesome! I have always wanted one of those.

The only thing I wouldn't like is having to remove my tool box for it.

nice tent man i need to get me one of those

Hey guys. Don't take this as tent-bashing, I've just been trying to cover all the pro's and cons.
I picked up a used fibreglass cap for mine ($100, and was even the right colour...woot) for sleeping in.
I just wanted something big enough for me, and something that didn't involve a lot of screwing around to set up or tear down. (Go in, close tailgate then close the capper door...that's about as simple as you can get) I have a fold-in-half cloth covered foam mattress from a tent trailer...it's 6" thick and 24" wide and exactly 6' long. Perfect for me to lie down on and still have room for 3 HUGE stacking storage bins beside me, plus a full size cooler.

Plus I was sick of setting up tents, and having to put them away wet and dry them at home, etc etc...

Here's the cons I see with a bed tent......
1 - you still have to set up a tent.
2 - you still have to put away a wet tent and dry it later, etc.
3 - you have to empty your bed out to set it up. (don't you?)

The price is right on them, and they certainly look cool:icon_thumby:, and I haven't ruled out selling my capper and doing the tent thing but I just want to cover my bases...

One question I have is, if you're going to empty all the stuff out of the bed, set up a tent, stow all your big stuff under the truck for the night, wake up, pack up a tent and load all your stuff in the bed again....why not just leave the stuff in the truck and set up a regular old tent?

Again, no, I'm not tent-hatin'... I'm just asking...

I suppose, living in eastern Canada I don't have to deal with snakes and scorpions and stuff....is that the big attraction with being off the ground and in the bed of the truck?

Really...I'm just askin'!

I just use a regular air mattress which works fine for me, those bed mattress look sweet though. It is very spacious, nice to be able to sit up in it unlike the truck cap I had on my Nissan.

GCFishguy Cap camping I have done and my inside of the cap would always be dripping wet when I would wake up in the mornings, didn't matter if windows were open or not.

I could set up a ground tent but I like being high and dry. If you look at my picture you can see my tool box which I use as a step, it's an old army box and in front of that I lay down a thin rubber mat.

May take longer to set up a truck tent but then I'm camping and having a beer or two.
