well....i was talking to a gentleman today who works in Windsor at an engine assembly plant and he told me some awesome news...

the new mustang is getting the 5.0L again!!! Eco-boost engine (direct inject technology and turbo) that will produce at least 600hp!! then it also has the technology to shut off 4 cyl. when cruising..if anyone else knows what going on in ford, lets hear it!!

the new ecoboost is coming for 2010 with direct injection (better fuel economy and more horsepower) and turbos for horsepower..basically all the N/A v8's are gonna be v8's that have ecoboost or v6 with ecoboost; the N/A v6 are gonna be 4cyl with ecoboost!! pretty sweet!!!!!

I wouldn't count on seeing a 600 HP Turbo engine from Ford in any production vehicle. I see press and dealer releases all the time, so this isn't a guess.

I'll second that...being an employee of Ford, I think I prolly would have heard something about it by now.

hey i'm not counting on a 600hp engine either..and I meant just the engine itself, not the rear wheel horse power..but that'd be sweet!! i did a little research and there are a few links saying that the 5.0L is back..but ya, when one arrives at my dealership i'll believe it!!

i hope they do, cuz the 5.0L is an awesome engine

it's not the 5.0L you think of from back in the day. It's a modular engine that just happens to displace 5.0L. You can order one from Jegs if you really want one.
