so i have a 2005 ranger with a little over 60k and i am thinking it probably wont be long before i have to replace the shocks any ideas on what to put on it i have looked at the rancho rs5000 or the bilstein like the lvl 2 i have also heard people talk about the superlift shocks riding nice

I've read a lot of forums that indicate Bilsteins are the way to go. I'm going with the RS5000. I have a set on my S-10 Blazer and like them. I'm getting ready to change to RS5000 on my 1979 Power Wagon Macho because the Rancho Shocks I have on it lasted only 24 years before one started leaking. And to think Rancho wouldn't replace them under warranty. Oh well, I got my money's worth out of them.

Cheap bastards!

I'm planning on getting some doetsch tech dt3000's cooked up for my b2300. i hear they are pretty solid and are relatively inexpensive at around $40-$50 each. Doetsch tech can also make custom-tuned, rebuildable shocks in pretty much any style and configuration you want (twin/monotube/bypass etc.) if you're willing to drop a little extra coin on them.

If you drive mostly on-road, Monroe Sensa Tracs will be fine. If you off-road or carry heavy loads or tow then consider the Monroe Reflex.
In my book, Bilsteins are top-shelf but they're kinda pricey.

Johnny O has a point. When I was a sturgling sports car maniac (I still am and still have this car) I replaced the springs on a 1973 240Z with Eibach springs but I used Monroe struts and they did and are still doing their job very well.:icon_hornsup:
