So I picked up a set of Monroe Gas Matic shocks today. When I compress them and let them return to full height they extend at different rates. One of each set returns to extended length at half the time of the other. Both front and back sets react in the same manner. Should I return them?:dunno:

I returned them. Close thread please.

I put Monroe gasmatics on my 2000 Ranger 2wd. Within 18 months and 15,000 miles both front shocks were leaking. My last Monroes.

Gabriel Ultras installed last night and couldn't be happier. Thanks again guys.

...you're welcome?

Glad it worked out though. I did the basics, and they didn't last long on my last ride either.

All basic budget shocks are about the same. It helps to upgrade as best you can within your comfort.

The ultras are a way better shock.
