Well after getting tired of bending the rear bumper into the bed all the time I decided to build a new one. I cut the lower bed sides off and went for a tube design. Its not done yet but getting close so heres some pics. I replced the rearcross member with a piece of 2"x4" .250 wall square tubing also. That way I had a good spot to mount the bumper to. I still have to cut the ends of the tubing off at the back of the fender flare, then bend another piece like the MC bumpers that will go up the bedside to protect the tail light. Then cap off all the ends, weld in the reciever and D rings then its finishe. Heres some pics of the process i went through, nothing to special. Let me know if you guys have any ideas that would improve on it. Thanks.

Nice bumper but um whats goin to happen when you drop the tubing on a rock wont those bend up or is the bumper not done yet?? just a question not trying to critisies nice bumper tho
im thinking of doin something like that my self my bumper is squished into bed gotta get something new on there stronger

Needs more triangulation :thefinger:

In all honesty, it needs a LOT more support for those quarter guards if they are expected to withstand a rock/tree impact. I'd tie the tube into the frame right behind the wheel well for extra support as well. I like the concept though!

Both of you ar correct, its not quite finished yet. I am gonna tie it to the frame into the tubing and gusset the corner. And it will have another that goes up the bedside and wraps around the back then back down. Well hard to explain but you will see. Should finish it this week.
