New Ranger Owner -- 2002 4x4 4.0 Flareside

Hi all-

I finally got my hands on a nice black '02 Ranger, and with it obviously being used, what are some things that I should go over on the vehicle that may be known trouble areas?

I'm hoping to get under the truck this weekend, but due to butt-cold weather and snow lately, I haven't had much motivation to get out and play with it. It's all stock at this point, from what I can tell.

Thanks for any guidance, and thanks for all your sharing of knowledge. This will be my second Ford...my other is a '66 Mustang. It gets even worse gas mileage than this Ranger does lol
