New project, looking for insight

I currently daily a '96 Ranger 2.3l 5spd XLT supercab. It's a decent truck even though as you would expect, has its flaws. I've already had to do a head gasket job right when I first got it earlier this year and going to have to replace the IAC in the next week or so, the left front was hit by a bull about 5 years ago and was hastily repaired, interior is showing its age and over all is an almost 30 year old truck. That being said, I love this truck and I want to TDI swap the engine, while keeping the 5sp manual. Looking for ideas as to what all I may encounter so I can be sure my build list doesn't miss anything and I do it right.

Don't see a TDI to 2.3 adapter. I guess you could find a 3.0 5 speed or a 2.9/4.0 5 speed to swap it in.

I didn't see a 2.3 conversion kit either. I was thinking about getting a donor truck for the 3.0 5sp trans as well as a clean bed if I can find one on the cheap somewhere.
