Just bought my first truck, a 2009 Ranger Super Cab 4.0L 4x4 auto with 206000 miles. That's a lot of miles but the price was right.
As I have done some backyard tinkering in the past, I expect to do most of the maintenance myself. The Ranger is so much more friendly to work on than most other vehicles I have owned recently (several Priuses and a Lexus SC300).
My first car was a hand me down from my dad, a 1964 Ford Galaxy 500. Next was a new 1968 Ford Mustang convertable (yes, I have some age on me), Plymouth Duster, several Ford Galaxys, Jaguar XJ6, Ford Fiesta, Saturns, Chrysler Imperial, Chevy Beauville, Ford E350 just to name a few. Mostly Fords I guess.
I am building a new home in the mountains of North Carolina and needed a vehicle to haul building material to and from the site. After looking at several full size pickups, I realized they were all way too big - I wanted something I didn't have to use a ladder to get into the bed and found the Ranger fit best for what I was looking.
The truck and I are still in a honeymoon stage as I figure out what needs fixing and what to buy to outfit it the way I want. Still looking to learn and keep busy by doing stuff.
