So I bought a 1997 Ranger 2wd, it only has 137k miles, rust free and overall runs really well from what I can see. My question is this. What is some preventative maintenance that I can do? I am already getting a lift kit, but is there anything in this year truck I should be aware of or something regarding the engines that I should be aware of?

Thanks

What engine and transmission is in the truck? I'd start out with having all the fluids changed (engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid if its an automatic, rear differential oil). Any leaks currently anywhere on the vehicle? Have the brakes and alignment checked out as well when you get a chance, at least have the brakes checked. Look for any uneven tire wear.

Hey WB thanks a lot for the suggestions. I can't believe I forgot to put that information, it is a 4.0 automatic
