New to the Ranger Station, but a member of FRF and the Samba for old bugs; thanks for having me.
New to trucks, bought a 2004 XLT, extended cab, 4.0L with 200K on it...at 202K timing chain broke...and a quick look inside said this engine had not been cared for. Brought a new crate with warranty from Ford, all new steering parts and suspension....Drives like a new truck. Very pleased.
So I thought non-electric doors would be no-big deal, but electric mirrors are sorely missed by my old eyes at night. Brought some OE electric mirrors, found the appropriate drivers side switch and some 3-wire OE pigtails that mate with the mirror.
I don't plan on using the relay, unless there's a good reason to do so. I plan on tapping into a 12V accessory source and was going to put in an in-line fuse. Question is where should I tap into and what would be a appropriate fuse size?
Anyone else ever done this?
Thanks in advance-
