new here and the first Ford I have ever owned, only reason I bought it was because I got a really good deal on it. I am thinking about making it my snow wheeling rig but I may also just sell it so I can build what I really want.

1988 bronco II, 2.9L, BW 1350 (iirc), 5 speed manual, new tires, needed a slave cylinder.

Welcome to TRS :)

Looks like a straight B2, and with Manual shift transfer case, nice.

1988 2.9l had the older style heads which would crack if you overheated the engine even a short time, so keep cooling system checked and working.
1989 and up heads were newer design.

The 2.9l oiled the valve train via cam bearing, so as engine got older and cam bearing gap increased the valve train can get noise, it is OK to run that way just annoying.

Good 4-wheelers with the short wheel base, but can get "tippy" because of higher center of gravity.

Good read here on B2 stuff: http://www.broncoiicorral.com/library/facts.shtml
