Just found this site. looks like a pretty cool site. alot of great info. here . I just bought last week a one owner 90,000 plus miles 2004 Ford Ranger XLT 2 dr. Supercab. My first Ranger. Just picked up a used cap for the bed this past weekend. Ordered new gas shocks for the cap door yesterday. Im really excited with this truck. I love it. ive got to get a new chrome front bumper for it somewhere and a few other little things but i cant wait to enjoy this truck alot more. Mark.

Thanks for the welcome. Honestly. ive always been a GM guy. owning over the years 3 El Caminos and I really fell in love and still love them. but the only 2 Fords ive ever owned was a 1975 Ford Econoline short wheelbase Van that my Dad and I customized together, and a 64 1/2 Ford Mustang. they both were very good vehicles and I loved them both. Not having a El Camino anymore, ive used my wifes Honda Element to haul lumber and alot of other stuff in and its really a great vehicle with amazing features, so my wife always said she liked the Ford Rangers and they seemed to really be a good little truck. So i talked with my wife and we both thought that a Ford Ranger would serve our needs better than a full size pick-up. So last wednesday she surprised me with one and I really love it. I want to do everything I can to take care of it and preserve it.

I feel the exact same way about mine.

Since it sounds like you're mechanically inclined (or if you just want to help make sure that your dealer/mechanic is being honest), I'd humbly recommend that you start looking into running FORScan, to help diagnose things when something (inevitably?) goes "wonky". FORScan runs on smartphones and tablets (Android or iOS) but it's best to run the more-capable Windows version (e.g. on any old Windows laptop) if you can.

Thank You Orca , i will definitely check into that FORScan. Ive restored a few 68 & 69 Chevelles and a 68 El Camino,and did alot of bodywork and painted several vehicles in my lifetime in my home garage. this spring i want to pull the bed off the Ranger and inspect the frame really good and clean it up and paint the POR 15 on it and the underside of the bed. iveused this and a few other rust convertors and protectors and I like POR 15 the best myself. The bed on my Ranger needs pushed to the right in front and back. Someone must of had it off at one time and didnt line it up right. I will be posting a few pics of my truck soon. Do you still have your 2004 Ranger Orca? would love to see some pics of it. Thanks again to replying .

Your restoration history is impressive!

Yes, I still have the Ranger, though I don't drive it very much. Hope it lasts for a long time. Sorry, the only pics I have are boring stuff from the occasional repair job.
