Hello everybody. I've been browsing on the forum reading info and such and I figured it was time to introduce myself and my projects. Names Jeremy and I have a 85 Ranger 4x4. Got it off craigslist for 500 and so the project begins. The truck sat for 7 years and wasn't used so the mileage was fairly low but It needed some work. We were able to put gas in the carb and install a battery and she ran. It needed a fuel pump so I bought one and installed it to find the tank was filthy. So I moved on to check the rest of the truck out. Turns out it leaked and the carpet was moldy, so out it comes along with the seats. I have ordered a new tank, sending unit, carpet, racing seats, stereo, and speakers and I'm currently waiting on parts to arrive. Trims been pulled out and repainted to black while I wait.

Welcome to TRS Jeremy~!

Looks like the 2.8 in there...not a bad engine according to some...don't expect too much from it other than it will never throw a timing belt or chain...it doesn't have either...lol

That's about all I know but there are others on here that are knowledgeable and can help if you want to stick with that engine...many will try to persuade you to move up to a 4.0 or even 5.0...
