Hi Folks,
Was a one-time member, a few years ago, but my old PC took a dump on me along with
pertinent information for the site so rejoined, new name, etc. I had joined when I got my first 1984 Bronco ll, with the
ever so "potent" 2.8L V6, can't knock it too bad, I had it in some pretty nasty mud/snow situations
and never got stuck. still have it, but it is relegated to the don't drive-it row. The reason
for that is my 2nd Bronc, a 1985 with the much more fun to drive Edelbrock equipped 302 !
It needed sorted out mechanically when I got it, and now for the most part is. Headers,
dual exhaust, fresh tune up... (gotta love not needing a code reader plugged into it !!! )The C4
automatic is freshly rebuilt, (wish it was a 4 or 5 speed....) and I have done a 2 inch
suspension lift and Monroe shocks. 31's on the painted spoke wheels, am contemplating doing a body
lift as I have scored an original set of brand new Bushwhacker flares...(RARE, got lucky)
still wrapped in the plastic, and have a slight rub on right front on full turn. Don't want
to screw them up !!! I made the templet for the hood scoop out of cardboard and a buddy
in the heating and air biz with his brake bent it up for me. Yes, it is functional,
4, 3" holes cut into hood in an effort to get a little more air into the engine compartment
to keep it a little cooler. Next onto the paint and bodywork, which is not my area of expertise, I'm
much better with wrenches ! Original color was the very 80's Ford peach.. couldn't stand it
so did a quick sand job and primered it ! The back support beam is shot, trying to figure out what I'm
gonna do there. Would really like to do a split rear hatch, a member, "old guy", had a thread
from a few years back with that done to his Bronc, and folks were wanting some details
on how he'd done it and apparently he never did provide much- At least as far as my thread
topic search showed... Would be interested if anyone has done any mods in this regard as
hatch has some cracks in the glass and would really like to get that checked off the list. You
would have thought Ford would have had a "better" idea for the hatch material than the heavy
fiberglass... Sorry, didn't mean for this to grow to the length it has... Enjoy the pics...
