Hey guys, new to the Ranger Station; heard about it due to the Calendar Fiasco with FoMoCo on Jalopnik some months ago.

Anyways, I ended up with a 5MT base model 1994 Ranger. My 96' Tbird ate its trans, so I bought the Ranger for $1000 USD. It's a little dinged up but runs strong!

Check it out!

I immediately transferred as many goodies from the bird as I could onto the Ranger. The exterior illumination is mostly LEDS (all LED's in the rear) but I ran out of LEDs when I got to the front turn signals and didn't have the right size for the parking lamps. The headlights are 4300K HID's, and I swapped in a set of Alpine Type-S 5x7's, the head unit's an older Sony Xplod unit running my iPod.

Oh, right! I nearly forgot that. Yeah, the seller said that it had a newer nose. I also thought the dash looked like 89-93, but it says 1994.
Might be an early 94?

And if I'm not mistaken, it's gotta have wheels on it from an 80's base Ranger.

I'm chasing down a newer bumper for it since I have a set of OE foglights from a Cobra that'll fit...

When you said 94 I thought what the hey! That's a Gen 4! I've never seen someone swap from 98+ back. Looks nice man!

Yours should have a 6 digit odometer
From another thread... http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19801
1994 was the 1st year with a 6-digit ODO for mileage (7 if you include the 10ths digit)

Though 94s had the same dash, they have another digit. The dash was then changed to a different style in 95.

Chances are your dash was swapped to show less mileage, and the nose might have been changed due to a wreck. You should get a Carfax on that truck.

This is the 6 digit one in my mom's 94, and my 94

I can tell you for sure that it is a 93-94 because of the smaller back window, but that still doesn't explain the dash.

weird.

I'll have to look at what the title says last registered mileage as.
Truck runs quite well though.

I'm going to swap out the cluster from an exploder or another 94 anyways, though I haven't quite nailed down how I'm going to get the dash apart.
Changing the speakers behind the doorpanels this afternoon was a cinch, though.

Oh well, I'm not trippin if the mileage was reset or whatnot. I paid a bloody grand for it and it's nice for a grand.

you don't have to take apart much of the dash to get the cluster out, the two screws holding the ash tray housing in are all of the actual fasteners, the rest are just spring clips that release when you pull a little. an 8mm or 5/16" nut driver should be the only tool to get the dash surround off, and I believe a 1/4" nut driver to get the cluster out, a whole 6 screws (more if you swap the speedo like I mentioned in the 4 banger section)

My 94 has the 5 digit odometer. My understanding was the switch happened IN the 94 model year.
