While the truck was in the air, I noticed my leaf spring isn't in the greatest shape:

I imagine I shouldn't drive on that? :dunno:

Does anybody know where to get a new set of springs? Maybe even something with some lift on them (nothing crazy, just 1.5-2.5").

I guess I'll have to take the Jeep to work until I have time to fix this.

explorer leaves wil give you around 2-3" of lift so im told

naw, not alone explorer leafs won't just get explorer leafs from the JY and some extended shackles and you are gtg for approx. 2.5in to 3in.

will they bolt right up? any years in particular that I need?

It almost seems like I want an entire donor Explorer. 8.8 axle for the Jeep to replace the Dana turdy-five, 4.0L engine & Mazda tranny to replace my 2.9L and Mistubishi.

yes they will bolt right up. Find some from a 4 door...theyre rated for more weight. All you need to do is flip the centre pin. If you need more info or help, I have pics from when I did mine.

Wow, you have one of those custom leaf springs. Easy to install, only attaches at one end...lol

I would rather buy new. You can get Ranger and Exploder leafs at JC Whitney for a great deal and a good deal on shipping:

I am planning on getting some new leaf springs and my add-a-leafs this summer if we don't spend too much on our bathroom remodeling we are trying to do. I found new leafs at JC Whitney. Great price for $225.96 total for a pair with shipping charges. They are alloy springs with bushings included and they have a set of add-a-leafs for 49.95. I am so tired of my leafs squeaking so much!! I clean them and then lube them and they are fine for awhile and then that start to squawk again. I have bought leaf springs from JC Whitney before for my 89 BroncoII and there is nothing wrong with the quality. They were great!!!! I am hopping to replace my Rangers leafs and put on new add-a-leaf this summer hopefully. Check into buying brand new rather than have some squawking leafs!! I hate them to pieces!!!!

No problem, Bro. Any info that helps is good info....lol

Good luck buying some crappy used ones....you get a full warranty on them? I doubt it....no crap scrap yard around here has anything I would buy for the price these rip offs charge for crap used parts. I will buy new leafs from JC Whitney with a full warranty.......

Pull Apart, $17.83 a piece with a 30 day warranty for $2.00. :)

Nice photo. My friends have springs with 2". I will refer him to you. :icon_welder:

go to lmc thats where i got mine they are good they are 109.95 and they come with the bushings to

I got my explorer leaf's for $40 off of craigslist, in way better shape than the W springs that were on it before... these actually have a positive arch! I did the JC Whitney leafs when it was 4x2, it didn't take long for them to sag too (2-3 years), I've abused these explorer leaf springs more than I did the stockers and they come back for more. one hint though, if you lift the rear, either lift the front or get an alignment... your tires will thank you, my front tires started wearing bad with just the back lifted.
