New injectors, runs worse!

Hi all. 93 4.0 manual non-cal emissions. Shop told me the injector on #2 was bad so I ordered a new set online along with upper intake gaskets. Replaced and torqued everything to spec and it runs WORSE! All the vacuum lines and electric plugs seem in order. WTF?!

Just a wild guess. On the Rat which is a yr younger, I have encountered a few dried out ,frayed and embrittle-d wires that needed attention. 22 yrs is way beyond Ford's expectation for the useful life of the'93 Ranger. Something may have parted. Also, check firing order stuff . If you suspect a bad injector, unplug and replace the plug one at a time. If you unplug one and the idle doesnt change, then you have found the trouble. I would check the plug connections before removing the injector. Please keep us posted. there are way smarter cyber mechanics here than myself.

Thanks Andy D! I have heard about the connectors being an issue. I am also going to check for vacuum leaks around the intake. Has anyone here changed out the connectors?

I would look to see if all the plugs are plugged in.Especially the O2 sensors and camshaft synchronizer.Whenever I unplug these I use electric cleaner spray then dialectic jelly when I plug them in.Make sure all the plugs on the injectors are tight too. Make sure you have the firing order right on the drivers side it's easy to mix them up under the manifold the spark plug wire trick will find this.The vacuum line is it back on the fuel pressure regulator.
