A little about me.
My name is Chris. Everyone calls me Stamps. I am new to fords. I've been a chevy guy most my life. I have an RB25DET powered 240sx, a 2002 WRX, a 2005 Trailblazer, and now a 1998 Ranger XLT. I currently live in San Diego, and i have been in the marines for the last 8 years. I am very mechanically inclined and do almost everything but machine work to my cars.
Now to the truck.
About 2 weeks ago I bought a 1998 Range XLT. I wasn't looking for a truck at the time but for $750 I could not pass it up. It is 4wd, extended cab, has a lift kit on the front, 3.0 v6. It did have a blown head gasket on the driver side. Within 2 days of me owning it both headgaskets were replaced and the truck was back driving around. Since then the idle air control valve and the EGR system has been posting codes. I replaced both the idle air control valve and the DPFE sensor. If the EGR system continues to post i will just replace all remaining components to it. I dont like that it has a 3 in lift in the front and nothing in the rear so I am waiting for my suspension blocks to get here. I also ordered a K&N intake kit because the previous owner made an intake for it that is not smog legal. All in all I only have about 1200 into the truck and so far loving it. Here is a picture about a week ago after i changed the headgaskets and decided to wash it and get it prepped for smog and registration.
All questions or comments welcome. Positive or negative it wont hurt my feelings.
