hey guys my name is mike, im from shrewsbury, MA, i dont have a ranger yet but within the next week ill have an 89 4 cyl that i plan on fabbing together a 4.6 DOHC swap into it

Welcome to the site.
I hope you've done some research. I order to get a 4.6 into a '97-earlier Ranger you'll have to switch the steering box to one that mounts outside of the frame or convert to rack-n-pinion. If you haven't got a Ranger yet I would highly recommend looking for a '98-up 2wd. For this type of swap the '98-up have several advantages over the earlier models.
