Howdy folks. First, let me say that this forum has been immensely helpful since I found it. I've had my ranger for about 5 months now... only one of which was on the road. It WAS an 88 2.9L m/t with a 4-inch lift, in need of a little tlc. Got it on the road within a day and then a month later managed to fill the motor up with water (don't ask:annoyed:). I am hoping to have it back on the road early this week. It now has a '96 motor from my '95 Explorer a/t 4x4, and an m50d r1 from a '98 mazda b4000 junker. Started it with the key yesterday, but there's still work to do. If people are interested in another swap story, I'd be happy to put one together. And I've been modifying various other bits and pieces (ie: performance headers, etc.) along the way. I can't wait to drive it.
But anyway... thanks for all the help you've all given me without knowing... hopefully I can return the favor in some way.

Welcome. You might want to look into starting a build thread on here to document your build. A lot of people who are actively modifying their trucks do that.

welcome to the boards an pics of your beast would be cool

another frankenranger......

ahhhhh yes...your in good company here:icon_thumby:

a teaser

I haven't uploaded all of the photos to my comp yet, and the ones that are on here aren't resized to fit on the forum. But here's a teaser to give ya'll and idea of the scope of the project. This is the 4.0l going in. I'd also like to take the opportunity to ask whether I should start a build thread and post in parts, or just do one big illustrated story to go on here (in the appropriate section, of course)... or both?

you could do like i did and make one long post in the RBVS under construction thread, with the back story and pictures of the work leading up to where it presently is, and then keep posting updates as you go. welcome to TRS, the cookies are great!

MMMM...COOKIES!! Oh and welcome to the site. I can see you'r well into the addiction. I'm with everyone else on the build thread.
