Looking for sum help recently bought a 96 ranger with the 2.3l in it. When I put it into reverse or drive it doesn't move intill I hit the overdrive button then sometimes when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it just revs up until I let off the gas then it shifts. I bought a new shift solenoid should this fix it???

How is the oil level?

It was a little low so I add a bottle of lucas stop slip but still did it but not as bad. So I went and got a new transmission filter and new shift solenoid and fluid im just waiting to get off work to install it hoping it is the problem
