Hey everyone! I am Eric, I am from Ohio. I just acquired, or rather rescued a 1984 Ford Ranger XLT from oblivion. My wife threatened to leave me for it but she's over it lol.
It sat for the last 6 months. The piston rings are bad, the heads are probably in the red too. It spews, burns, and eats oil everywhere and it eats its own battery, and it still starts and runs with a vengeance. But looking at it, being in a Ford/ Dodge family, it has a particular charm unlike any truck I've seen anywhere. I was recommended to find a Ford Ranger enthusiast group or website and came across you guys.
I am planning to have that little German 2.8 rebuilt, transmission is as smooth as dad's new F-250. That engine, with its current problems, defies logic by going down the road so smooth, smelly, and smoky lol.
