Hello! I have been lurking on the forums for awhile and decided to sign up now that I bought a ranger.
I have been wanting to do a 5.0 AWD ranger for quite awhile now and now I can move forward with these plans. I picked up a 1999 Ranger 3.0 FFV 4x4 stepside for $2000 last weekend from a neighbor of mine.
A little about me... I interned for 2 years as an auto technician while I was a junior and senior in high school and worked at the same shop throughout college a little bit. I decided I didn't want to do this my entire life while I was in college and became a mechanical engineer.
I have had almost more cars than I can count. For fun cars in the ford family I have owned a 1992 Mustang GT convert triple black, 1993 cobra vibrant red with damn near no stock components, 3 v8 SHOs, 2000 contour SVT.
I have done some weird stuff as well. I swapped a series 2 L67 into a 1993 bonneville. a turbocharged 1995 saturn sl2. And among the ones mentioned I have probably flipped a couple down cars in my spare time.
I bought my house 5 years ago and built a 1200 sq ft garage to use as my playground. A couple weeks ago I had a lift installed to make my hobby a little easier.
