I read threw this site from time to time on some projects of mine. It's always helpful. I have a quick question on a 89ranger I just bought. It's a 2.9 manual I bought it for a beater truck but after working on it for a few days I've found its a wiring nightmare!! I need to know where the fuel pump on the rail gets power from since the wires were ripped out. Does it come from a relay, fuse block, or inertia switch. I would straight wire it but I'm not sure if the pump cycles on and off and don't wanna burn the pump up.

I would pick up a haynes manual and follow the wiring diagram. You can try searching on here as well.

The power comes from a fuse, through a relay, through the inertia switch, to the pump. The computer triggers the relay.

I kinda figured that the inertia switch was the last stop makes since. Thanks for the help.

Does the tank pump work? They share a power wire.
