Hello everyone, I found this site earlier this summer and I have to say it is a great site with lots of info that has helped me a lot and has helped me with mods and future plans for mods. I live in Yarmouth, NS, Canada just a small town with pretty much no one I know who is into going offroading. Most of my friends that did that kind of thing moved out west to alberta so I am pretty much alone when I take my ranger in the woods. I am trying to build it up to be pretty capable in the trails so I don't get stuck as it would be a hard time getting out without another truck with me. I was never a ford guy until my father bought this 1997 Ranger XLT 4X4 standard cab, 4.0l V6, 5speed. He got it for a good price with the intention of using it to get places/ haul things that he couldn't with his car. It had a new inspection but in my opinion it was unsafe (I am a mechanic by trade) After I had the truck layed up for about 2 months he got tired of it and sold it to me. So far I have replaced rear brake lines (blew them 2nd day he bought it), Wheel cylinders, shocks (were completely rusted out and had no fluid in them), bearings/seals, New center link/ tie rods, the list goes on. I have big plans for this truck and work on it every chance I get. I could make a build thread of it if you guys have interest im sure ill have lots of questions along the way. Glad to be in a group with you all that share the same passion of these great trucks even tho I get teased a lot from my co workers about it ( I work at a GM dealership). I also went to school and took welding before going into mechanics so im pretty handy with a welder and will probly build some bumpers and other things as I go as well.

Hey, welcome to TRS.
You should start a build thread, not for us...well maybe a little, but for your own benefit. I've found it's a great resource for a year or two down the road and have forgotton what I've done.
Lotsa pics too please.

Richard
