Okay 1st post I cant find my answer so hope it hasn't been asked too many times...

I wanna ditch my torsion bars and go coil-over. (blah blah blah) Main question would be does anyone actually "know" what coil-over out there will fit a 2007 4x2 Sport? If possible I obviously would rather something that will just bolt in with no mods to the mounts or anything else.

I just need a shock that can hold itself up. Something out there has to fit, right?

(Height would need to be level with 2" shackle & 4" block, so something just under with a spacer will do.)

:dunno:

Cool I read that before. I guess I was wondering why the coilover doesnt fit stock. Is there not enough clearance for the coil inside the upper arm at the stock angle or something?

Without knowing it just seems like all you need is a shock with a coil around it...but life aint usually like that is it...

In that thread they talk about how ORW used to make a coilover setup for the stock Edge's but have since discontinued it.

Okay I've seen a lot of homemade coilovers now. The angle or arm clearance don't seem to be the problem...it seems that the hight of the upper mount is the biggest issue, not allowing for a long enough coilover. Every mod I've seen has raised this mount, hence all the cutting and welding.

Is there not a coilover shock short enough to work within the stock geometry and strong enough to support the truck properly?

What about with the longer uppers that are recommended for lifts over 3" anyway? Would they allow enough drop to help this? I'm not going for stock hight, btw, more like 3-5" lift.

Just asking what I can't find in the FAQ's. I need to understand what I'm up against so I can tackle it in my own way.

Thanks.
