Hey y'all, just picked myself up an old Ranger for a daily/project.

Bought a 1986 4x4 Ranger with the 2.9 and a FM145 swapped in. Runs like a champ but still needs a little work before I hit the trails.

So far I've replaced the cooling system, did a trans flush and fixed some jerry rigged electrical. Basic stuff so far. Still need to do the clutch, flywheel and starter (I think). Starters grinding occasionally on startup. May just need some tightening.

Body's a bit rusty but the frame is solid so I'm not too concerned about the body.

Anyway, here she is. Hope to get some more info on these things from some of you senior members! I don't know much about these trucks as I've been a jeep guy for the past 5 or 6 years.

Jeep guy? Really? At least you saw the light.:D

Howdy and welcome to TRS!

Nice ride. I really like the way that interior came out..

Thanks man. The interior is probably this things best feature right now... Rust has taken over everything but the cab and frame haha.

But yes I've been into Cherokees for a while now. They're a helluva lot if fun off road, cheap to build, and that 4.0 will run forever if you keep giving it oil. This was my last trail rig.
