Hello all. my name is Tyler and I am now the proud owner of a 01 3.0 2wd ranger edge.

A little about myself, I am a light, medium. and heavy duty mechanic in pushlinch just outside of guelph ontario canada. If it sucks, squeezes, bangs, and blows, ill work on it. i truly love my job and all the challenges that come with it.

all my life i have been a Cadillac man, then gm lost me when they started producing absolutely terrible products. Somehow i ended up with hyundai, still love em, they are fairly well built and easy to work on and can be fun to drive. I have a 04 Hyundai Tiburon that was one of the very first vehicles completely plasti dipped and has one show and shines, unfortunately she is no longer in her glory day's. for 7 months i commuted from London to Guelph for work, it worked out to be 10,000km per month so she has some scars.

Anyways onto the good stuff, I picked up this little ranger and it sat in our yard for about a year because the shop has been so busy. Finally i was able to get her in and see what kind of potential it has. The truck is fantastic, needs some love and some parts but nothing i cant do on Saturdays.

to give a peek at what it needs.
01 Ford ranger 3.0 5spd Edge extended cab, style side.

Needs:
Rear brake hardware and adjuster kits (super easy)
Front door hinges (another routine repair)
Clutch master and slave cylinder combo (annoying but no big deal)
Rear doors wont open, the bottom latches are seized i am pretty sure, soaking in t40 as i type this.
New bed,, This one is the PITA for me, the bed was completely rotten on the left front conner and cross members are crushed so i removed it, stripped the tail lights and fender wells and tossed it. I saw a bed for sale but its from a 97 ranger and i have no idea if it will fit, and i have no way of transporting it to guelph. add(http://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-p...ger/580286229?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true)
and of course some minor rust repairs but if need be ill just replace the rear doors, the cab is solid and looking good, the engine purrs like a kitten even running on bad gas and an air box full of nuts lol.

I tore it down and checked everything for a safety and my standards not a shabby truck i am wondering if picking up a parts truck would be best but i haven't seen much for sale in my area unfortunately, guelph seems to be f250+ territory. i would buy one but i cant stand the 6l

anyway i was browsing the forum and thought i would join up, i have been a member on the Newtiburon forum for many years.

Thanks very much
Tyler
